Tune in to Art Crush on Monday, February 26th @ 9AM as hosts Jozefien and Svea interview Angela Hennessy!
“Through writing, studio work, and performance her practice examines mythologies of blackness embedded in linguistic metaphors of color and cloth.
Angela works to decolonize grief and death, and her most recent show When and Where I Enter (at Southern Exposure, in SF) incorporated human and synthetic hair to make a large-scale Victorian mourning wreath. We will be talking with her in her studio about her creative process, which encompasses hospice volunteering, engaging daily with loss and grief as a Black woman, and purchasing massive amounts of hair.
